The energy forces him to take a step back and the slice to his leg makes him stumble. "You're really -" He can't help but laugh, a little shaky. "My mother? My parents were both fools." Stupid, simple people who couldn't see beyond their town, their country, their continent - even their own reality.

Casper's face is pale and he finally drops the gun at his feet. There's a loud bang as it does and a bullet fires into the wall, shattering a mirror. Casper lets out a yelp and jumps back several feet out of instinct before his knees give out, leaving him shaking on the floor.

"... What kind of demigod jumps at the slightest noise? Pathetic." He walks towards Casper despite his wound, blood trail stopping a step or two after he begins. "Maybe I should have left you with your brother."
