The mind-clouding effect doesn't seem to bother him and he blinks away the daze, trying to get away from the attack. It strikes him in the shoulder and he snarls, putting a hand to the shoulder and taking a step back.

The mage looks at Shang Beida, looks at Casper, and then just chuckles darkly. "Fine. You can have him for now. But I'm not leaving this place without him." He turns and starts to walk away, wincing slightly. If Shang Beida moves to attack him, Casper will just... touch his shoulder and shake his head.
