All the winged man does is open his hands, as if in surrender. Federico cannot sense or see any anger. None.
Why?? He is bleeding. What sort of elaborate trap...
His name again. Insistence he just wants to help. How does he know his name??
Federico goes still, the confusion at the winged man's gentle tone winning out. The gargoyle's breathing is unsteady, heartbeat way too fast, but he holds still, watching, eyes wide. The stranger knows he's afraid. He'd said as such. He's right. Why not take advantage? Threaten him?? What does this person hope to gain...
'If I do anything painful to you, you are free to hurt me as you wish.'
Something about that statement makes his chest ache. No one should be so calm about being hurt. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense.
A new fear rises in his mind. Pale blue eyes sharpen, analyzing the state of this stranger's hands. He doesn't move otherwise, but he needs to check. If this person, who...apparently just wants to help...if he has any cuts or injuries on his hands, Federico needs to tell him. He cannot touch any of his infected blood.
This stranger could be lying to him. Might be here to kill him (although it seems less and less likely...) but. No one deserves oripathy.
Seeing no injuries on the hands coming toward him, the gargoyle relaxes, just a little. Still he watches, weary. But he's not going to attack...for now. Give this person a chance to keep his word...
