The halovian smiles at the softness inherent in Ryu's words. The other man, younger, an Endless... Fou-Lu always spoke of Endless as though they were so above humanity, as though he himself had to be held within higher regard. Perhaps it was the fact that he was an emperor, but speaking to his other half, knowing them both, it's hard for Sunday to think that Endless and mortals were all that different from each other.
"I will. I will stand with him, by him. I will not leave him."
The halovian sees humanity within them both, everything he loves and hates about it. To hate, and harm, and destroy. To love, to protect, to create in equal measure. Ryu mentions the Capital, and his expression saddens. The halovian closes his eyes. He knows it won't stop there.
"Then... You know." Sunday's voice is soft, mournful, as he looks at Ryu. There's a quiet plea layered within, for both halves. "The decision brings him no joy. I've seen how it's torn into his heart. I only ask that you try to understand it. You don't have to agree. I know I don't. But... I was driven to a similar point, not long ago."
Not quite as extreme, but was there truly a difference between death and dreaming, if that dream was to be eternal?
"As much as he hardens his heart, it is still soft. He deserves to be free of his pain."
He's not sure if anything he's said might have changed Fou-Lu's mind. Still, he was willing to try. Ryu takes his hand, and Sunday lifts it, kissing the back of it. Two halves of a whole. If their souls became one... He would love the dragon that they were.
"I swore it to him, and I will swear it to you. I will love him, now and forever. No matter what happens, if he disappears or changes. I will love him."
